Position description The Patient Care assistant works with the nurse to care for the laboring and postpartum mother. This position is required to float to other departments and to the regional family birth centers when patient census dictates. The Patient Care Assistant assists staff with delegated tasks of direct and indirect patient care which supports and complements nursing practice under the supervision of a registered nurse. The Patient Care Assistant carries out delegated skills that are within those functions limited by law to unlicensed nursing personnel. Qualifications 18 years old and completion of 12 college credits or High schoolEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
